Greece - you don't need music to get through Greece surely but I'm glad it was complimentary.

They are brilliant.

But try the pains of being young at heart a different sound but i like them lots as well.

and if you have the bandwidth the whole #6 is nice even if i say so myself - link in the next post - let me know what you think - i almost ended it with that feist remix (my moon, my man) but i kept it for my personal alt take. you know one needs some discretion some valor.

My best friend introduced me to Smog she is always a tad ahead of me musically. I went for supper and she had the album And a river aint to much to love playing and that was all that it took. I eventually tracked it down and bought it and it's been twirling around my head and my lounge for days on end.

This weekend we were talking about it and we both agreed that if 'this person' or 'that person' our acquaintances got into Smog it would totally ruin it. Such petty snobbery but for the moment it belongs to us. I love this song in particular, sometimes I run on the promenade and it begins and I'm just at peace.

The free concert always happens in the week before the festival so that is what you need to keep your eye out for. It's one Greenmarket square and will feature a few of the acts generally two local bands and two international bands of which one plays in the 'bassment' so nu jazz-ish. Free concert starts 17h30 and goes until 23h00 and is very festive.

Last year we saw the Ananda Project play - great band but - the sound - the time management completely ruined it.

But this year it was perfect - we came for the Soil 'n' Pimp so didn't see the first few acts and listened to Mezzoforte for a bit but it was fusion and we needed to find a proper WC so we left.

You should check out the festival one year if you haven't been before - it's good when the line up is worthwhile - wanted to go this year to see a few bands but it clashed with Easter and family so I gave it a miss.

How do you find out about things like free concerts in Greenmarket Square? I pride myself on being in the loop but some things clearly go over my head...

Did anyone else perform or did 12 000 people all gather for just 45 minutes?
