Rule No. 470 (Esquire’s The Rules)

When a girlfriend and a mouse are in the same room, a man does not belong on the chair.

I think that you shouldn’t take too narrow a view on that rule because it could be juxtaposed onto many scenarios: work, play, travel to name but a few. In all them though I think that I am always in the role of the mouse.

Long boring days, lucid thoughts and espresso moments, I think the Acid House Kings perfectly capture the mood, ‘it takes a lot of walking to get to you…’

I think I could easily sleep for a day, I think I could easily read for a day and it won’t be too long now before I’ll travel (far away) for a day.

I haven’t blogged a lot here but I have been productively writing about food and drink at the BSE which has diverted all of my immediate attention but that venture now appears to be blossoming which means I can make a quiet return.

There is no place like home.
